Our drive to the Blue Mountains was just a bit scary being the first time driving on the opposite side of the road. Kip did a great job but we were all pleased to arrive in Katoomba and at our hotel. Day one was a lazy day just enjoying the hotel but Day two had us up an d moving early. After a yummy breakfast we were off on our 3 mile hike in the Blue Mountains. We followed the ridge trail with fantastic views of the mountains and the rainforest below. We viewed the Three Sisters rock formation from afar with all the other tourists but followed the trail to a bridge which had us right on one of the “sisters” watching the tourists from afar!
Our trail continued to the Giant steps. Now don’t be confused by that. The steps were narrow but they went on forever (700 steps) going about halfway down the mountains into the canopy of the rainforest. It took us about 40 minutes to climb down the steps and them another two hours through the forest before we found the venicular to take us back to the top of the mountains and them to the skyway cable car which took us across the valley back to our side of the mountain. Another 15 minutes and we were back at our hotel just in time for High Tea!
